It is always possible Glen. About a year ago I took some Burundi Frontosa over to Paducah. The lady had one pair of WC Kipili Frontosa and they had spawned - male looked about 4" and the female was around 2". She had a dozen fry to prove it!!

Dang thats awesome! but once again i find a fish holding SNAILS!!! WTF i had a tropheous do this once also lol.... no eggs (sad face) I have also herd of frontosas holding bubbles lol crazy fish... But atlease she never spit when i was trying to catch her she might be a good mom in a few years.
on a side note i did however strip 3 othere fish in the tank, a cyprichromis, Xenotilapia, and Golby ( first time getting fry from a golby) total about 45 fish

lol (Tanganicodus irsacae Ikola ) Goby! sorry for the typo... i have no lcue about the snail my tanks have almost none in them, but i have seen snail eggs laying around from time to time looks like a small bubble of snot with eggs in it. lol i bet the front picked on up and held it.
I have heard of frontosa holding air bubbles also! lol its kind of funny.

LOL  I just thought Golby might be some cichlid I didn't know about. I have a lot to learn still. You have crazy snails and crazy fish picking up snail eggs. So weird! |

Oscars will breed @ 6" but grow to 12". I know.
Convicts will breed @2" but grow to 5-6". I know
Rainbow Cichlids same as Convicts. I know.
Some Africans I have kept bred at smaller than grown size. I know.
So,....why wouldn't the Front's breed before fully grown ?
Seems to make sense to me they would, if tank conditions were to their liking and one had a compatible pair.
The books are not always right on this subject.
Keep a keen watch on them.
