A guy showed up today wanting to trade me his 4 Tropheus Black Bemba because he bought the tank with them and could not get them to stop fighting. I am thinking they are all male! but they are adult size. He just wanted to swap them for some fish that would not fiight and have babbies. He picked out Brichardi ,and Cylindricus. not a bad swap but my thing is these guys really want to rpi eachothers heads off! lol I am going to go vent them and make sure that they are not all males. if they are i will seperate them and order some females. this is what they look like (not a image i took) camera was not charged. they are lip locking like crazy!   |

Regardless of m/f ratio, I thought keeping tropheus in small numbers led to aggression? I've never kept them myself, though, so who knows!

yeah best to have alot, but they normaly will nto try to rip eachothers heads off! lol these guys were nutts.

I wouldn't keep under 12-15 together, if in a pinch maybe 8. I would put them in different tanks. They are some cool fish

yeah all 4 are seperated for right now untill i find some more.
I guess my 200 gal might end up being a duboisi ,and another tropheous type tank. I have 13 duboisi left out of 20 sold a few. I like the Bulu cherry spot, Bemba but i can't find bemba females atm.
