If I get enough entries, we will bring tis back. If it starts to die, we may have to tweak rules and allow winner one month to keep participating.
There has been tank of the month talk. My concerns is after 1 month, how many people have enough different tanks to keep submitting new tanks.
My recommendation is to just have a tank of the swap, and have one contest per swap.
Thoughts?

I'm cool with it, but I had trouble getting entries with just a fish shot. I will give it a chance but I am not going to beg for entries. I am going to make a mcaa pom Photobucket acct

tank of the month isn't reasonable given the club size, imo

Club size has nothing to do with it cause our size is more then capable of doing a TOM. It just comes doewn to who wants to participate

i like looking at the beautiful tanks and hope we have enough people to have the contest but all of my 60 tanks are mostly bare btm, they are all set up for breeding and not looks so that lets me out untill i get the frontosa tank set up and running.

Club size has nothing to do with it cause our size is more then capable of doing a TOM. It just comes doewn to who wants to participate it has everything to do with it. we have more fish than we do tanks and the fish of the month was struggling. tanks of the month will get even less traction due to the sheer mathematics of it all. but thats just like, my opinion, man.

Our club size is just fine for both those contest. We have more then enough members. The reason why the POM struggles is because we cant get any participation. Thats the bottom line. We have over 50 members. If we could get a third of them active in the contest we would be great. So in my opinion with our club our size doesnt matter AT ALL.

TOM (tank of month) --- or --- TOQ (tank of quarter), --- or --- TOSM (tank of swap/meet), --- or --- Whatever else we might call this............................ I'm fine with it too. I believe since it is easier to snap a pic. of your tank than to get a good pic. of one or two or a group of your fish, that there might be some who would become interested over time, that are not currently in the POM contest. But as Mike and few others here have stated, most of my tanks are bare-bottom tanks for breeding, and nothing to take a picture of. I would say start out by asking for pic's of tanks between now and the Oct. swap/meet and we can have one winner at that time. Then we can promote more entries for a quarter or for the next swap/meet. Just some thoughts to get this idea moving.
I am hoping to be contacting you soon asking how to send you some of my individual fish pictures, since I have never done that before. I don't have many, as I don't have the fancy cameras so many have, and none of my pic's, IMO, are as good as the ones I have already seen here, but I plan to enter some with you soon.

signde and bnoel. I agree with both of you. Club size does matter, and we want more members, more active members, but we do need the ones we have to participate. Some only want to participate in forum exchange and attendance/participation @ the swap/meets. The goal is to find more and more members who want to do things that create more and more participation among the ones here and newcomers alike, in programs besides just swapping and selling and buying of fish/aquatics. So,..............both of you are correct !
This is the very reason I ask in another thread for members we do have to tell us what they want to implement, ie: BAPS or any other programs. There was little response. I would like to see more participation too, but we have to provide programs that all levels of hobbyists can be a part of, not just BAPS. Once we get BAPS off the ground over the next bit, and it is well under way of being created and finalized, we still need to look at what else members can be a part of.
Thank you for both of your continued interests and input !!!

Rick, I am going to make a club photo of the month photo bucket account and will post password here. I will make folders for each month and entries will be submitted straight to that site.
As for tank of the month, I would prefer one really good contest as opposed to monthly. If we get 100 members then monthly will work. But we can discuss later, if everyone wants it I support it.
