Not a bad plan if that becomes a feasible option for both of us. thanks for offering that idea.

No noise, only way I can tell if it is on is if I put my hand in front of vent.

For the record....
Air exchanger is keeping humidity at 70%
Temp at 79
Smell- summer breeze
Electricity- half of one humidifier.
Conclusion- I am an idiot for waiting this long.
This data is from past few days when we have been in the triple digits. Last summer, with two dehumidifiers running 24/7 humidity was in high 90's temp mid 90's, and smelt like a cross of mold and fish.

Sounds like you are well pleased Jon. Now the big question. What is the expense for one ? My fish room is incorporated under my home as about 1/2 of our garage. The dimensions of my fishroom are about 12' x 17' x a 7' ceiling. I have 70+ tanks or about 1500 gallons of water in this space.
Is there a formula to know what size air exchanger I need ?
Is there locations on the web you can direct me to to do some research ?
Should I be looking on Amazon, E-bay, and the like and if so, what specifics should I be searching for ?
This is a totally new subject to me and I have no idea of where to start my research.
I will appreciate any advice you can offer, any pitfalls I should avoid, and,...I will appreciate any advice from any of the other members here who can offer more advice in this thread !

For your size room, I would say you could get a small unit for about $500 new, or $300 less used. Check eBay, and aquabid.

my room is 16 by 26 with 10 ft ceiling so i think a small one would work for me as well

Mike if you find a resource for the smaller one Jon has referenced to , let me know. I reckon we will both be considering the expense for one of these now, huh ? I gotta get this darn A/C working first though. Priorities...

Jon does it stand alone or is it hooked up to the HVAC in the room?

I had tapped into my central home A/C & heat system, but found I could not regulate it as desired, and I had air exchange issues where the fishroom smells radiated into the house. Family members did not like that. Also I had sweating issues with the duct work with all the humidity in there. So,... I closed all that back off and heat via space heaters and my de-humidifier with ease in colder months, and cool with open doors and fans in warmer months. Works pretty well for me to date.
