Those are beautiful fish. How can you tell which are male and female? The one in the front is my favorite.

Usually the male is very bright and colorful and the female will look dull in comparison. I believe this is for safety in the wild.

Breeding pair. Wow Roger they are beautiful . I have 1 male acei he is my baby . I accidentally received him instead of a yellow tail. And it was the best mistake he's about 6 inches in length . I've had such a problem adding any other CICHLID to the tank as he's whippy and they tried to go after him. I have him with a yellow tail and they get along well. I want to add more to my tank but have only seen them in the uk . Your pair is gorgeous do you have any babies ? Thanks Jen
