Just wondering if anyone still has angelfish or discus? Don't see any posts that are recent.

Jo,
We have a couple angelfish gurus. Rick (ree123) and "frankandnick".

Good to know, it didn't look like anything was going on in the angelfish section. That is what I have most. 7 tanks running and angelfish in all, my 72 is a community tank though and have only one angelfish in there.

I have 2 discus but keep them in separate tanks because they fight! One of them is in a tank with angelfish and the other is in my community tank.

Forgot to ask you what size tank your angelfish are in? I have some of mine in a 46 gallon bowfront tank. 5 angelfish, 1 discus and 6 kuhli loaches, 3 baby bn plecos

I had a veritable boatload of adults of several strains but a eastern KY breeder bought every one a couple of weeks ago

It really depends on my time. I try to do it every couple of days. Sometimes I do go a week though. Everyone gets water change at least once a week. When I first got the discus I have, I changed water everyday. They were small, once they grow up a little they are tougher. I have one discus in community tank and I change that once a week 50%.

Sounds like a great schedule. I've always heard the more often the better with discus.

It really is the more often the better. If you have time to do daily water changes they are much happier. I took that one eating black worms from maybe 2 inches to 4 or so with daily water changes and lots of good food. They need a lot to eat to grow, so that is why the daily water changes.

That's great. I rescued several from a lady a couple years ago but they weren't healthy and were too far gone to save physically. A couple lasted a while but were never healthy.
