I understand in 2007 I had several and did not know what I was doing, only changed 25% water weekly. It was horrible to watch such beautiful fish die.

Well I think these would have been fine but they were in bad shape when I got them.

I think that does make the difference. One of the reasons I prefer to buy from breeders rather than lfs's!

Good point. I'd like to try them again one day.

They are extremely beautiful and unique fish. If I get any more I want to buy from some one who raised them. I love their parental instincts. Everything I've read and seen about them online would be so cool to observe!

Nothing like a pr of angels that will parent raise their babys. at one time i had 9 pr of angels but only 4 of the 9 pr would raise their babys with out eating them.they are pretty easy to breed once you get a pr.

I am a discus person, I just don't have any. But I think they are amazing. Angelfish I am not as fond of, but I am liking the new morphs and strains coming out.
Is it possible for an angel strain to ever get colors of discus?

Jon this is a male i use to have a few yrs ago and the pic doesn`t show how deep of a orange he was . he was more of a red then he was orange . i think angels have just as good of reds and oranges as discus but they have a ways to go yet when it comes to the blues. There is angels now that has blue on them but its not the dark rich blue like a discus has. Attachments:

Cool fish! I like to photograph angels and discus because they will stay still.
There was a new guy at the swap that kept discus.

Well I can't seem to post any pics here. Don't know why I can on other forums? But I have blue marble angels but the blue is not as beautiful as the Discus I have. I really love all fish and would have 100's of tanks with all different stuff if I could. Here is video of tank with the blue marbel and cobalt discus. Sure would have liked to meet the discus guy at swap.

How does the discus do with the angels, Jo? If I put my discus with the angels, I could eliminate a 10-gallon tank. Mine do fine together. Sometimes the discus gets a little snappy at feeding time. I will try to post a pic. Forgot to ask you what size tank your angelfish are in? I have some of mine in a 46 gallon bowfront tank. 5 angelfish, 1 discus and 6 kuhli loaches, 3 baby bn plecos My angels are in a 72 gallon bowfront corner tank.
