Yes it was nice to have someone to ask a question when i was stumped. Now i try to pass it on to the younger bunch when they need help with angels I'll ask you a question. I have a breeding pair that has laid eggs about 5 times. None have made it so far. Now they laid eggs again Saturday and the male is just tearing the female up. I took her out. He can tend to eggs. What do you think would cause this?

Did you pr them up or did they pick each other ? I had a pr that did I played match maker with and they did the same as your pr. If it was me you have 2 things you can do, 1 you can split the pr up and let them pick a new mate or you can put them in a bigger tank with several plants so the female has a few places to hide.

Some pairs just don't get along, just like people. Try adding dither fish or taking out dithers. Try rearranging the tank with additional ghiding places or change the ones you have. Try putting them in with some other Angels to re-pair with another. Exchange a breeder with a fellow hobbyist or a local pet store for another. Acquire another breeder or another group if $ is not an object. Try a larger tank like Mike suggested. Just a few ideas. Remember though, some just don't get along.
Are you sure you have a pair and not 2 females ? Have the previous spawns ever hatched ?

Hey Mike, I picked them they were both showing breeding tubes and both look like silvers but you can tell have zebra in there. The female I know her dad was zebra and mother silver. I took her out. I will put him in with some other females. Thank you!

Hey Rick, Yes I'm sure I have a pair they have had wigglers and a couple make it to free swimming before they ate them. I think It is like Mike said I picked them they didn't pick each other. I don't know any fellow hobbist around here. I will do some rearranging and put him with some other female choices. Thank you!

Keep us up dated on how it turns out plz Hey Mike I will. I got one of my stands from FIL's house last night and think I'm gonna move fish and tanks around tonight. I've got a 25 with the 3 baby koi in it. I also have an 18 with cherry barbs and it is planted with 2 small angels in it. I'm going to move all of that except angels to a 10 and may put 3 baby koi in 18, then put the big guy in 25 with a couple of females and see what happens but not the one he tore up.

I just got everything done tonight. I broke a heater saturday and that put a halt to all of it. I got a new 10 gallon for cherry barbs. They are in it and happy. I put the 3 koi in 18 gallon cherry barbs were in and they are happy. Put pair in 25 that koi were in and they are liking it. So hopefully everyone is happy now and the angelfish will make babies in the 25. LOL

Kinda. On the one that was for the 25, I had some of the whisper filter media the white bags no frame. So I cut some plastic that is for some craft, can't remember what it is called I've seen people using it for tank dividers. It is working well. The double one I cut up a big aqua clear sponge I had and put that in there, I will probably get those little bags of rings to put on top. Still thinking about all of it. This is working now though. Thanks for asking!

Good! DIY is the way to go with that type thing...much less $$$! Or if not DIY, something that can be reused limitlessly.

Boy it really is I was looking at Petsmart today and they actually had filter replacements for top fin filters, but I passed. Gonna stick with what I got.
