As an exhibitor in many shows, I'd rate the ACA Indy show as "typical" in it's organisation and set up. "Typical" being very unclear and more than a bit confused at first. What SAVED the day? The CCAC Members were plentiful and helpful. Once the scale of my task (20 entries) was understood, it seemed at every turn there was someone right there that was not only willing but danged near EAGER to assist, whether in answering questions, determining current taxonomy, correct paperwork completion, "Here, hold this hose" or navigating show fish placement. The ACA's annual show is a wonderful goal for any local club, as is an AKA or ALA show. As I've shared before, the Nashville area can certainly support a club capable of doing this. In addition to the official requirements, we'd need AT LEAST 10 members on hand for the duration of such a show OTHER THAN THOSE already fulfilling an official duty. Hosting the annual ACA convention is a HUGE task and carries HUGE rewards (financial, recognition) and has HUGE consequences (mostly in the reputation department) if it is mismanaged or grossly understaffed.

Well stated Scott. And great info from someone who's been there. I'd love to see this happen down the road. Just need more bodies!

I agree on the part that we need more bodys. when we have more members that are active and don`t mind stepping in and helping then i think we should tackle this but not until then. We all need to listen to what Scott said.

IMO we would need somewhere between 30 to 50 members committed (and present) for the entire duration of the convention.
