Maybe ten people looked 8 times. I think Rick said only club members can vote.

I'm here Mike. I pop in and out a lot. I'm not always logged in and sometimes read in a hurry and plan to log in later to chat/comment/post. What did you want me to say ? It is true and you are correct that only club members in good standing can vote for officers per our policies.
I have several other rather blunt comments to add here, but I am wording and re-wording them to try to get my message across to each of you the way I want it to read before I post it. I know there will be hurt feelings and folks will be mad when I post what I really think about this election, so I am trying to either state facts or give a "in my opinion only", in my many drafts thus far.

I don't get why any blunt comments need to be made. You stated in a couple different places election will begin in a week and then a week passes and you vanish without posting you are leaving. I posted it as cut and dry as possible. Whether you win or lose the club is still looking for your help and leadership. You are an officer either way. If you are re elected and plan to travel as much as you have this past year, you might want to invest in a labtop, tablet, or smartphone so you can stay in the loop when you are not at home.

OK folks. Here is my comments. I have typed and re-typed several times, and proof read to say what I really think, and what I know as fact. The letter below has both in it. I hope you will read it and make your decision with knowledge and decisiveness of the direction you want this, YOUR CLUB to go. This club is for all of us and I feel your membership, thus your right to vote, and your participation, is vital to this organization and it's structure. We must have more of you participation, and bringing in new blood, and stepping up to do things !!! This is a must ! If you want your club to prosper, grow, continue,.......it is up to you all. The officers are volunteers and not designed to entertain and do all the work. All of us are suppose to do that. Now,............... My honest letter to you..............

I know this is rather lengthy but I really, REALLY believe each of you need to read it through to decide where you want this clubs direction to travel.
I am stating some facts, some of my concerns, and some of my opinions. Every one of us has an opinion and I am certain some of you will find mine offensive, brass, harsh, or even unacceptable. That's OK by me. IMO the time is now to lay your options out so you can better understand them.
My goals have always been for growth and success and it appears new approaches need to be sought to achieve this, but I want to make sure you know what you get with your vote for Jon vs myself. (facts and opinion)
I'm going be blunt folks. Sorry to those it offends, but it is time to say a thing or two. Our club structure as you know it with our guidelines/policies/procedures/By-laws/Constitution/Amendments/elected officials/etc... are only as good and sound as you all make them. This is why I ask you all @ every swap/meet what you want to do, participate in, and or achieve as a group. This is why I ask you all to participate.
I do encourage you to vote in this election and I encourage you to become a member, if you have let your membership lapse or have not joined to date. Only members by the rules can vote in an election. If you vote for your Web Master to also be your President/leader then you are voting for providing absolute power to be given to one individual with a committee of folks to serve with him, IMO. He has proposed that all officer titles be canceled and the definitions of the responsibilities and guidelines that obviously go with them would be changed by default. IMO this would create a position of absolute power for this club and is, again, IMO, the very worst thing that could happen to this club as we know it ! I am not against change, but to change the structure of the rules or policies would be detrimental to our club, IMO. Some changes are definitely in order to help us grow, but not structure/policy changes, IMO. I had already written to Jon to explain my position on this, not against him, but against the ideal of ANY web master also serving as a president, as this is only a conflict of interest for any given club, again, IMO. I believe we need check and balance and this will not/cannot be achieved with one person holding all power @ the top, no matter who that person might be, again, IMO. Voting for me offers you the opportunity to have a check and balance system in place between a web master and a president. Sorry to be so blunt, but that is what you all are voting for and it appears that Jon has created this thread so you cannot change your vote, and you cannot see how the vote is going. He also created this thread without consulting me, and by definition of any hierarchy, the vice president would have been the next in line to have made such a move, not the web master, and then upon talking with me , not for permission, but by respect of the position he/she holds. Only Jon can see this voting poll progress, yet he is running for the office. No check and balance.
I was going to allow changes until the day of it's closure, and allow you to see the graph of votes as I do with the fun poll votes, but he has opened the vote using closed options while I have been out of town on urgent family business. Sorry if you all can't wait a day or two on me, but my family has and will always come first, and for those of you who can't appreciate that, then this hobby/forum is to important, IMHO. It is a hobby.
I could acquire a laptop or a smart phone to be on the forum each and every day, but we all have lives outside our hobby, including me, and sometimes I have to be away for a few days. Our club doesn't collapse because of absence on occasions. We have no guidelines that state the amt. of time one is to be on the site, be it an officer, member, or forum user. We only encourage participation. And, once again, and it has happened before, that Jon has used his power with the stroke of keys to limit my access to this forum on certain levels. Our By-laws, Constitution, and Amendments spell out the responsibilities/limits/levels of access of all the officers and the web master, and no where can I find that the web master can give and take away access @ his will, yet it continues. Again, no check and balance. To those of you this offends, I apologize. It is the truth to the best of my knowledge, and/or my honest opinion and concerns for our club. The vote is yours and the club will take the direction you all choose. This vote is not about me. It is, or should be, about our club. Again, it's direction and it's leadership is up to you all. Our policies currently state I will either be re-elected or serve as a board member, thus Jon and I would exchange positions if you all elect him, but I really, really feel that if you all elect Jon, then a conflict of interest and an absolute power hierarchy will be in place with your voting decision, and I will support your decision with prejudice, but will honor it and try to be co-operative and supportive of your wishes, in spite of the lack of or loss of the check and balance. I really think you all should think all this through before placing a vote. If you have already voted and care to change your vote, I am willing to accept that change. We will have to discuss the options for such a change though, as there is no hard and fast rule in place of when you can or cannot change your vote. You would need to contact me should you decide this way. I would think if only one of you wanted to change a vote, then it would be out of the question the way it is set up now, but if a lot of you wanted to we would need to consider what move to make that happen. Again, this is up to all of you. I have no idea like the rest of you how everyone is voting. Only Jon can see that now. And to repeat myself again, no check and balance. I know this is blunt and I started off saying that I was going to be blunt. I am calling it the way I see it. I have always been your advocate for what you all want while doing my best to follow our policies. I have told you this @ every swap/meet I have presided over since taking this office. It's up to you what you want from your club. I have always said that too. This is an important vote, the most important one in the history of our club, to date, IMO. I hope you vote, even if your vote is not mine. Remember, you must be a member, in good standing to vote. If you want to join before this vote ends, you may contact me and I can walk you through the process. Actually, I encourage you to do just that, if you want our club to continue to grow and be here for yourself and all of your fellow hobbyists.
Dislike my stand on this, vote me out, vote me in, whatever.......but you all need to take a stand and become proactive in this club and decide if it is just what you want, if Jon has the answers for you, or if I do. I am not offering much new........ A new emphasis on advertising, a better array of speakers, and earlier promotion of a swap/meet date with an agenda. All your officers failed on that one last fall, but we have a good location for the swap/meets now, thanks to Jon and Tim, and plans can be made soon after this election ends, no matter who you all choose. But do please choose, then be a part of the excitement, the planning, the advertising, the participation and all that is needed to make this an exciting place !!! With the greatest respect for each of you, and...with the greatest respect for my contender, Rick Easterly MCAA President
