Jon, You are absolutely right the insurance was optional and you did say it wasn't needed... I knew the club had a budget and planned on giving money for good measure. I also knew that accidents do sometimes happen and I would have felt terrible if something did.. The $75 dollars for insurance was not a big deal, we don't mind helping out. I just wanted to make sure everyone was covered just in case something did happen not only to protect the club but the land owner too.. In a situation like that who knows who all would be sued..

Your right, lodge owner probably could get sued too. We look forward to having more functions there. It has a lot of potential and is a keeper.

Well I have done a bunch of catch up reading and didn't read page 3 before I posted this, but I read the main posts and reposts. I think what Jon did was in the right. He stepped up when nobody else did. The voting is fine with me the way it is. If we have a revote Jon is still going to be the one running it. I think Jon is a trust worthy person and the vote should stand. I am a member in good standing even though I haven't been on here that much lately. Some of that is due to work and being a single parent, but other reason was it was getting rather boring here with only a few active people. I will say I like the way Jon is thinking about going with the club and will support him as much as I can. Like I said I haven't been here much but if what Jon has in place gets up and running I will be behind him and support him 110%. Rick the reason why I would vote for Jon over you since everything is out in the open is because myself being in the military i'm really tired of every task or mission being so hard to accomplish. When we have a new plan is place Rick rights a new chapter in his book on how everything is going to happen. I read the book halfway before I get bored. Don't know if I have ever read the by laws and everything from front to end because of that. We are a group of great people in a very great hobby. The easier we can make stuff in my opinion the more success we will have. I don't mind putting all the power in Jons hands. I have been a good friend of Jons since I have moved here and we text and talk quit often and I have always liked his ideas and his ideas always lead to less is more. Meaning we don't need a full book on how the club is going to be ran. we have a couple people in a few positions and everyone knows what job they have. I agree there really isn't a need for a President or VP right now till we have a much higher member base and a lot more active people on the forum. Just my two sent deposit. Take it how you will.

I guess you all know I have not been on the forum much in the passed 6 months, Most of the reasons are because I did not agree with the way somethign were going with the forum. If things turn around i am sure you all will see more of my imput again on the forum. I have sold almost all of my fish for the time being ,and will be down sizing due to the fact that we might be moving ,and building a new house. Having a huge fish room in the garage is a eye sore for buyers.
in saying that i am sure i will be watching the forums mroe as i miss my fish=) I can't wait to see how all the changes go in the next few months.

Well a month later, and here's another post supporting the subject although I'm a non-member at this point. That may change, if things get back to the way they were when we founded this club. I'm one of those "former officer deserters" and although it may not have been the ideal way to handle it, I left for the same reasons stated here. The long dictations and working and reworking of everything ad nauseum was ruining everything we set out to be. For some of us, watching something we nurtured and loved for our hobby fester, wilt, and start to die was too much to take. I liked the comment about the vice president being the one to take the position if the president is voted out--when George left the vice president didn't take over--Rick, who had a handful of posts and hadn't been on in ages prior, received an email and was asked if he wanted to be president and he swooped in to take over not even knowing what we were building toward or recognizing the work that had been done thus far as valuable. Now there's a chance to redeem that and go back to loving fish? Yes it's worth sticking around! And if it's happening, I can't speak for other members that left but you can count on me to join, roll up my sleeves, and get back to work. Here's hoping!

Sorry if that's harsh. I believe your former president meant well. But hope is in the air and that's a great thing!
