I had one of these for several years until a red emp took it out.

I looked at the link. He's great now and looks like will get even greater. I don't get how red emps can be said to be docile. I have read that more than once and I saw in the LFS a red emp giving everything in the tank a hard time! They seem like bullies.

Most haps and peacocks are very teritorial and almost all of them have a bitter side but if you more or less kinda overstock the tank and dont worry about breeding them they do much better,in my 125 i keep almost all males and when you get enough of them its hard for 1 fish to be the top dog,for there is always one a little badder than one another,i was given that advice years ago and it works great, my 125 has prob 20 fish in the plus plecos almost all show great color and have full fins, again when you have that many no single fish ever gets beat to death, hope that all makes sence, for example them emps are prob in a tank under 50 galls and prob not a big variety of other dominant type fish, hope that helps

40 gallon breeder and they had it in with a couple of oscars and a jack, and some smaller fish I couldn't see very well as they were up high and I'm megashort. I keep spreading ours out because I do want to breed a lot of them so as they get pissy I have to consider rehousing them. We don't have red emps though. The red fin borleyi are going to be moving before long the boy is just too pushy.

you know angel i persoaly keep them all together then when i decide which i want to breed then i catch them and put them in a breeder tank in which if you already know which you want have a female or 2 alreay in there waitin for a male and things usually go pretty well in others words a display tank for all of them and a breeding tank for your select breeders, again as you know there 100s of dif ways this just works great for me and usually less stress on all fish involved

This is my first year in the hobby so it's live n learn. I wondered how that worked with all the males in one tank and the girls elsewhere!
