JD, Have you ever had a platinum convict? I've only seen one and it was awesome. I'm not sure if they are naturally occurring or not. Joe I can answer my own question now. Evidently, they are a cross between an HRP and a pink convict. This was according to a thread on the Aquamojo forum. Those familiar with that forum know how they like hybrids there, as Aquamojo himself would say "pan fried with a side of salsa" .

JD, it's difficult to tell for sure from the pics and I didn't make note of it seeing them--you have so many cool fish! Are they supposed to be fat? Ours we got from you have bellies. I don't think they're being overfed and they don't appear ill. They're just chubby. Young ones will look very fat angel. They are notorious pigs as well so they tend to gorge themselves if given the chance. How big are they now?

2" or so. There's one that's way smaller than the others. And the two escondidos are way different in size too. They really are pigs! Feeding time causes waves!

They are indeed a hybrid as stated. They are a cross of the blue long bodied HRP (not the rio monga) and a pink con. The hybrid hatred is going to sink the ACA's ship if they are not careful. I'm not a hybrid fan although I do like some of the normal looking ones. Some of them are quite pretty. I don't like deformed looking fish or ones with huge humps. A lot of the so called purist seem to think that they are better then everyone else and the ACA memberships are dropping like a brick. I have no problem with hybrids or there keepers as long as they are responsible. There are tons of irrisponsible supposed pure line keepers. The ACA board seems to have forgotten that we all are fish keepers and that there is nothing pure or natural about keeping fish in a glass box.
