They are 48" x 18" X 13"tall. They run about $100 at glasscages.com. But be forewarned, you have to be very careful with them. They are known to crack and have a bad warranty. If I ordered from them again, I would pay extra to get them to use thicker glass.

I'm a little bit scared of those guys after the experience you had. So these are considered custom tanks and not generally available by retail?..........what about acrylic? I've never owned one but are there disadvantages? They have those for $145.

They scratch easier, they are lighter- and I don't think they crack as easy. I have only had one in my life, and it did get scratched up when the cichlids moved the rock and spit it out at the acrylic. If you use sand, and keep rocks in very center you should be fine.

I wish I could have a fish room, or even another tank. Parents.

You've got a lot of time to get more tanks. And it sounds like you're well on top of the one you're keeping so far. School's about to start back up some of the summer boredom is gonna get eaten up by homework, hanging out with the guys, and checking out girls. One tank's good for a while probably!

Rico- you can just look at it as time to plan. I didn't get my tanks started until I got out of my parents house. I had some small tanks growing up, but what I couldn't own I tried to learn about. Now the only thing stopping me is my small garage. Maybe parents are a good thing after all, they keep you grounded when you get crazy ideas like turning your garage into a small zoo.
