Red fin borleyi here too. I got mine from the Critter. He's just a butthead. But with enough rocks even if he's difficult that should give everyone enough territory. He really mostly hates other copadichromis anyway so that might have been the entire issue. Is the pic on your avatar your stuartgranti? That's a gorgeous fish. Great job on the negotiating delivery! Hope you get it!!! hmmm you are the second person i have heard from that says borleyi can be aggressive. everything i have read on cichlid-forums suggests they are quite docile, though. then again fish are like people, you can't always generalize them. i have a lot of lace rock and some holey rock too so i think i will be okay with all the hiding spots. and yes, thats my stuartgranti in my avatar. i've just recently gotten into peacocks, i wish i would have sooner. one of the reasons i want a larger tank is so i can have more, i see a german red in my future soon

At first I was totally turned off by fish with one color face and another color body. But they grew on me. Now I love them. I used to call them Frankenstein fish because it looked like two fish were sewn together. LOL How things change!

Ha! Just thought of one of my first shopping days at Jon's! Remember at all Jon? You were showing me fish I could put in my tank, and the red fin borleyi male was one of them. I had said I didn't like the fish with one color face and another color body, then was describing the fish I had. Turns out I had two red fin borleyis and didn't know they'd change--they were still black with orange fins! I was devastated! But it turned out great. Watching him color up changed my mind entirely. Then came the peacocks

Hello, MCC! New member here! I'm Matt from Joelton/Ashland City. I am an aircraft fueler at at Nashville Intl. I'm a newbie to keeping fish. I have a 29g with danios, platys, ottos, and a java fern and an amazon sword plant. This is my first tank, and it's been running strong for 8 months! I was referred here by George after posting a wanted ad on Craigslist. I've been lurking for a few days, and I really enjoy seeing everyone's tanks! I hope to learn much about fish keeping from hanging out with you guys!

Welcome Matt! Happy you decided to join us! The ottos are a cute fish. Clowny guys. First tank running 8 months that's awesome. It can be tricky for most folks to start up. You could be a natural at this!

Thanks angel! I'm no natural, I try to take things slow and do the research before jumping into something crazy. My success has really amplified the enjoyment! With so much knowledge here, I'm hoping to expand to some more advanced setups!

You certainly could! We have members who keep tropicals, cichlids both African and New World, oddball fish, saltwater fish, brackish, crustaceans, and plants. And I'm sure I'm missing some! Everyone loves to share and learn about new things as well.
