here are a few pictures I took a day ago. As JD would say " I got a lot of orange fish" JD and Titans got a few new fish and I was able to piggy back and get me a female severum for my Red Head to play with. here he is. Traded a old fish book for him maybe 6 mo ago. you notice the ram at the bottom, he acts like he is as big as the rest. It took a long time for him to get use to being with the bigger fish but now he is a very cool part of tank life. and here is his new girlfriend (i hope) She is about 3+ inches long, you can see the red in her lower body and the blue in the top. She is not too shy and comes out and eats really well. I'm really looking forward to seeing her grow. Thanks again to JD and Titans for letting me get in with them . and just a random picture of a few fish When I was at the Chattanooga Aquarium I noticed lots of turtles in with fish. Can you do this in a home tank ? anyone have done it successfully ? And yes I owe pictures from the Chattanooga trip, my bad, very sorry... I'll get to it. ps. anyone want some Mystery snails.... I have a few extras

That's a fine bunch of orange fish you have there, John! They look great. There aren't any fights with the little guy(ram)? I was just telling JD we were gonna get a tank with those in it because I was thinking we couldnt' put them with anyone else and have them not get eaten. But you seem to have done it!

the rams I have had seemed to do best when they were the dominate fish in the tank. And they are very cool to watch in that situation, they will stake out a spot and protect it from all intruders. When my other fish were smaller the rams were ok. As the BP's and severums got bigger and I added other bigger fish, the rams (I had 2 of them) went into hiding and got a bit psychotic. 1 ram went to the corner, put her nose in the corner and would not eat or come out. She died. But the other has become acclimated and has regained his dominate stance. But he only acts out to the fish that will put up with him and he backs off of the biggest sev and the red head. But he seems in good health and spirits. I like him a lot.

They look good John. Your new sev is going to have a lot of red/orange on it's side if it already has that much at 4". Very nice. If Jeff said it's a female I'be be confident it was.
I would avoid the turtle fish combo. It almost always ends badly unless you have a tank setup for a turtle and you don't care if it picks off a few fish here and there. Normal fish aquariums are not really designed for a turtles needs.

I could take some of those mystery snails off your hands.
I would also try to avoid the fish/turtle combo. When I was younger we had a 100 gallon tank with two sliders in it and the only fish that every lived happily in there without getting eaten or all its fins slowly bite off was a pretty aggresive largemouth bass we caught in a net. If you had some huge carp it might work but otherwise it usually will not work. Plus turtles are VERY messy!!!

If you ever get up to the Gallatin way you can come by and get some or if need be I work in Antioch and have a tank there too. I could take them there and you pick them up there. How many you want ? I could take some of those mystery snails off your hands.
