I recently got a new tank and the biggest pleco I've ever seen came with it..the man told me he was big but this fish is about 12" long! I thought it was a catfish...all I have is a 55 gallon so I don't know if I should put him in there he was in a 40 gallon ... I just don't think our 55 is big enough..what do I do with him?

a fish of that size would do a lot better in a tank with a minimum size of a 120 gallon 48x24x24. bigger would be better.
You may consider selling it to someone with a large tank or trading it in for other fish.

I agree. Did you look at the show tank at Aquatic Critter? There are fish in there that are too big to be in that tank with that many. One of them is a pleco. He's actually caused me to have nightmares because he's so hideous but I think he just has no life in that tank, and it's big.

I would give him to someone with a pond.

He went to go live with the neighbor...I think he was more excited about the huge pleco then he was about the other little plattie babies that came with him...lol...I swear that was the biggest pleco I've ever seen in a tank...very scary..I refused to touch him he reminded me of the dragon thing in never ending story

I wondered for a while too then I figured it out. Local Fish Supplier or Local Fish Store. Like Aquatic Critter.

If you have something they think they can sell. It's always worth asking.

I would get bristlenose plecos or something that doesn't get as big, then you won't have to worry about it.
