Most of you know I am disabled. As of Yesterday I was informed that the state of Tennessee has decided I no longer am qualified for Tenncare.
As a hard working man all of my life I can't understand why people that can't speak english and have never paid taxes in his State are qualified to receive these benefits. People that have never worked in their lives and are on SSI are also eligible for Tenncare benefits.
I am a Diabetic, with Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis, Degenerative Joint and Spine Disease, and Severe Neuropathy.
My medical bills are close to $200,000.00 a year. A treatment called Remecade that keeps out of a wheelchair. Where I spent several months when I first got sick with this disease. I will go back to the wheelchair without it. cots $10, 600.00 every 6 weeks. If I lose my Tenncare I will have to pay $2000.00 every 6 weeks. I get a whopping 1100.00 per month disability to live on.
My other meds are $18,700.00 a year. My pharmacist said without the Tenncare I can't afford my meds.
I would like for all of you to please contact your State Representatives and using my name complain about the reworking of the Tenncare system leaving out chronically ill people
Please refer to Roger Hopper of Winchester Tn
I have not been on in a while and hope to be on more soon.
Feel free to give them my email addy
hopper3483@bellsouth.net
My attorney says numbers get attention.
Please follow through with this to help me. If this happens my fish keeping days will be over. Before I could not walk or feed and bath myself. I don't think I can handle going back to this again. The pain levels without the Remecade become unbearable at times. I went days without sleep.
Thanks for your help
Roger
