How many people are interested in making an ACA local chapter. I will talk to Ted Judy up there if there is any interest. I don't think we need too many people, but the more the better. We will meet like 4 times a year, and maybe two of them can be fish swaps. I think this website running with all the involvement we have should be enough. I think it would be $25 year for the ACA and then whatever we add for our meets(really really cheap). This is not a have to kind of thing I just need interest levels.

I talked to Ted Judy and Phil Benes about starting a local club. He said no need to be part of the ACA- just set charter, website, and just start meeting as much as possible- for me 4 times a year max- 2 of which need to be swaps. Then set fees and start getting speakers, all the ACA is there to do is have a club liason that passes along info of what's happening around the country and event organizing. I have heard that the ACA membership have fallen here recently(by over half) and what we have here is quite the opposite. So lets take it slow and just keep doing what we are doing. We can judge interest level at the swap and maybe get a few new members. Then if interest level is still high- we can officially organize. I enjoy what we are doing now and what he is talking about would be a ton of work. I don't want to take the fun out of fishkeeping for anyone(including me). I will keep researching, and if anyone else knows anything or has been a part of a regional club, please give me advice.

If we do it, it will be about 4 meets a year at various locations around middle TN. If it were to ever grow state wide I would split it up where each region did their own thing. This is still months off, but we will talk about it at the swap.
