I'm one of those people who fell for the cute little pleco at the petstore a few years ago right as I got my first fish tank, not knowing he would be over 12 inches a year and a half later. He is in a 55 gallon community tank and really badly needs a bigger tank. I'm slowly saving up for a 65 gallon from glasscages.com. Hopefully in the next 2 months I can get the new tank where he can be much happier.

Be careful with glass cages- I'm not saying don't buy from them, just that they have a bad warranty and I've had 3 of their tanks crack. I still buy from them only when I need something custom made. If you read the warranty, they don't guarantee the glass, just the silicone.

Oh, that's good to know! It might be worth to pay a little more getting it from petsmart or petco then.

Handfeeding him! How sweet! He eats a whole raw zucchini every day. Whenever other squash is on sale I'll buy him something different.

I find blanching causes them to love zuc's even more. I do 2-3 at a time, cut into long strips, toss it in a closed bowl in the fridge and it stays really soft. Mine eat half a large zuc a day(assuming I remember to buy it at the store).

Nice pleco!! I've always liked the way common plecos look and I like big fish. Too bad those darn things poop so much though. If they were not so darn dirty I'd have a huge one in my tank. I like the way those bulky 16 inch ones look!!!
