I've never had anything but common plecos. It always shocks me when I see how attractive some of the others are.

There are tons of really nice looking pleco's Fishme. They are generally pretty expensive though so stores do not stock them. Just go to planetcatfish.com and look through some of the L#'s. Some of them are very hard to keep and some are extremely easy. Just read up on any that you want before you purchase and you will have a real good idea if it will fare well in your tank.
L239 is next on my list to buy ;D. They have a great blue sheen to there entire body and only get about 4".

The F1 and F2 refer to how many generations from the wild they are. F0 are wild caught. F1 come from 2 wild caught parents. F2 come from 2 F1 parents.

I've looked on the planetcatfish site and now have to revise what I said a while back about not caring for plecos. I don't really care for the COMMON pleco. There are tons of nice ones! You have great taste, JD. The blue sheen one is really sharp!

Yeah, there are some really amazing looking pleco's out there. And for some reason all you see in stores are the ugly common ones that don't even do a good job eating alge. I never have understood why. I would much rather pay $25 for something really nice then $8 for an ugly common pleco.
