Everyone that has visited my garage knows I am running out of space. Here in the next 3-6 months I will have a massive expansion and have a different company name and become more legit. I will soon be able to ship nation wide and plan to breed at least 40 different species while keeping about 60 in stock. I will pass all info along and take pics as I am setting up my new place. Music City Cichlids will remain the same and I will still sell out of my garage, I will just have alot more inventory down the road. Nothing is for sure yet and it might all blow up in my face- if you aim high you can fall hard, but if you never shoot you never do anything. I hope that made sense- it did in my head at least

Sounds really exciting, Jon. Sounds like you might be able to do some auction business. It must be fairly lucrative since so many keep doing it.
I'll be happy when you're able to ship to Tullahoma....lol

If you do it right it is. But you have a couple of slip ups or poor customer service reviews and it is all over. I will probably do a little aquabid, but I haven't made my mind up. This will be a long process- but I hope to be shipping to tullahoma soon.

It's hard for me to get to Nashville right now. I'm assuming shipping wouldn't be too bad since it's close.

Knoxville would also make a good trial!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention, I could always spread the word on how awesome the fish are! Also, you could always come check on my tank(s) and see a UT game ;P

Jon, if you need any help moving stuff around let me know. I may not know all the taxinomic names yet but I can certainly move large objects.

Sounds exciting Jon!! Shipping is easy Jon. You won't have many issues with it. The issues are always space for growing out fry. The tank space it will take raise 40 different kinds of fry will be insane. I highly recommend you go with the rubber tubs. Much cheaper to raise huge spawns up to 1-2" in them compared to tanks.
I am currently shipping almost all of my fry to a couple of the large CA/SA vendors at .25-0.5" becuase I just don't have the space to grow them out. It works well for me. I can sell them in huge groups and make decent money. The vendors grow them to 1-2" and sell them for a huge profit themselves. I would be more then happy to sell spawns to you for the same price if you are ever interested in any SA/CA cichlids. I've got 3 different places to send them right now so if you don't ever want to mess with the new worlds I completely understand. I haven't got stuck with a spawn yet. So hopefully I can keep moving them out the door.
I'm about to do a small expansion myself. I don't have enough fry tanks and want to add 4 more species to to my breeding list. That will get me to 16 different species with any luck. I have no chance of ever having space to raise them to selling size though. So I will always be selling them small and cheap if you are ever interested.
Good luck with the expension and hit me up if you need help with setting things up. I would be happy to help.

This will take me a while to plan out, I am hoping for a drip system automatic/ water change with the rubbermaid stock tanks. I then plan to have some glass tanks on the bottom. The space I will have is about 3-4 times the space I have now with room to add a greenhouse and grow out ponds in the future.
JD- I eventually will do the SA/CA's, and anyone who wants to come check it out once I get it up and running can. Just remember it will be a work in progress.

I think you could do really well, even if you only shipped fairly locally at first. Us folks here in N. AL really don't have any good cichlid suppliers anymore. I'm not doing a lot of expanding at the moment but if I were, you would be the first one I'd come to! I don't know how you guys can handle all the huge setups but I definitely admire your efforts.
