Just an FYI. I picked up a beautiful gold nugget pleco at the critter today. It was $40 and they had 2 or 3 left. This was Saturday at 2:00 pm or so.

Ha...... thanks. No guarantees on them, which I expected. But going in a good stable community tank. Pretty good odds. Doing well so far and eating heartily.
Added 4 german blue rams too. Lord those are beautiful. Hadn't had any until now.

We have one male. And a pair of Bolivian rams. The German Blue male and the Bolivian female have taken up together and picked on the male Bolivian so badly that he won't eat and is about starved to death. I noticed he was worse yesterday but had to leave for a long day working. If he's still kicking today I need to do something--just haven't figured out what. And they said the German Blue would be sensitive--geez! He really took their affair to heart! They didn't have any female GBs when we were there but that was first of July. Haven't been back yet.

The little guy passed on today. He just couldn't get over it.

Could this be the first documented death of a fish by a broken heart, or is it just another case of murder most foul by a treacherous mate and her fancy new back door man? Inquiring minds want to know.

Well I can't really say what churns in the back of their scandalous minds, but something smells fishy.

I see this German Ram threesome like a Shakespeare play, possibly Hamlet.
Thou wretched, rash, intruding fool, farewell! I took thee for thy better.
Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

I'm a country boy without a lot of edification, but I think you just said angel did it.

The woman always does it man, always.... 9 days with the gold nugget and I've seen him 3 times, the day I got him, the next day, and tonight. Still doing well in my established community tank. Going to get him some little buddies from Jon since his order came in.

Ha...this post is basically for me to keep track of how infrequently I see this damn pleco. Saw him tonight for the first time since August 22. 2 1/2 months and it is in a 55 gallon tank in my bedroom.
These little buggers are shy!

You're right about that. The one we've got hides a LOT. I have to wonder if he's eating--he doesn't come out and eat with the rest of the fish. But he's still alive. I move things around to find him once in a while.
