So I started with 4 Ornattipinnis Zambia a little less than a month ago. One was killed outright. Yesterday, while servicing the filter, I found a little potato chip of a fish under the tank. After I got done reworking the rock a bit, hmm, only one Shellie in my tank. My wife and I have searched high and low for this guy, or gal, I think it was female. My fear, is that I'm going to find her looking like a McDonald's french fry under your car seat. So, now I am down to one. And he seems to leave his shell, search around the entire tank, then return. Kinda like he is searching for the other shellie. My only hope is that she is burried deep inside one of the large shell, hopefully holding!

I have had them go into the shell to die also. But for now lets keep it upbeat. Do yours build little sand structures around their shells like mine do? All you can see is the hole of the shell, they bury the rest. When I change the water and mess their house up they go right back to work.

No, no structure building. I'm fearing the worst. I moved the shells around to see if she was in one, nope. I'm sure I will find her when we move.

jon, looks like you were right. The one shellie left pulled the other dead out of a shell tonight. Even when I pulled them all out of the water and looked in them, I didnt find her. So it goes I guess.
