Tina, How are these guys doing, including the trophs. when I got them they were only about a 1/2" - 3/4 " in size so I have become a little attached to them. (Please say they are doing Great) ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Joe

Hi Joe, They are doing great. And I'm not kidding they really are! Cute little guys every one of them . They still stick together. All the hiding places they have and they swim in a school but as long as they're happy. A lot of color and activity so all is well. Tina

I'm learning a lot about fish and their behavior. Joe, these fish have formed an attachment to you. They don't yet trust me. I'm patient and they'll come around eventually, but it's interesting to figure this out. They eat, but never ever in front of me. When I feed the tropheus they all swim in a bunch in the back of the tank. They watch me but they won't eat. The minute they can't see me they're all over the food. The julies, calvus and cory cats will remain perfectly still til they can't see me then they come out and eat. The shellies don't care--they're out and eating even when I'm looking right at them. This was the case with my madagascars too and finally one of them trusts me and will play and eat in front of me so they must have gotten used to where they were before. The other two are still very shy. I'm so used to the ones I've had a while eating out of my hand that it's a whole different thing having them wait til I go away before eating. But that's good--they had to have bonded well with you. And JD, the fry and the green terror are doing great and have no shy issues. The fry are nearly double in size--must be fast growers. The green terror got into a shoving match with the blood parrot today but they're about the same size and no one was hurt. They both wanted the same structure. The blood parrot gave up. Jon, everyone I got from you is doing fantastic except the trophs. I've had a few deaths as you know. It's got me baffled, and frustrated. But keeping at it. Thinking of changing the substrate maybe it's holding something. Speaking of holding, I think I have one yellow lab that's holding fry. She wasn't eating. Now she is. There's still fat cheeks and double chin. She must be feeding fry. I hope! I was going to strip her today but ended up having to watch grandchildren and they're here overnight so tomorrow afternoon. She's in the 125 and I'll have to tear it all apart to get her. Enough of writing a book!

angel my exsperience with trophs is they are TOO TEMPERAMENTAL,very prone to bloat etc, awesome fish but if you want other fish in there its hard to keep them around ,,not impossible but more or less a pain in the a$$,at least when you mix most tang and haps and peacocks you can moderate diet fot both but the damn trophs almost take the fun out..lol
