We've been hard at work today getting the smaller room off the fish room cleared out. Dennis is about to paint the cinderblock part of the room black and run some more electric outlets so it's not so messy. Now to decide how to arrange things--Africans in one room and South Americans in the other? Large tanks in one room and small tanks in the other? Enclose it in glass seal it off make a hole in the dining room floor to get in and feed and clean it and fill the entire room with water? Decisions, decisions!

Me too . And I can swim great, but have no idea if I can clean underwater! We'll most likely put the smaller tanks in the smaller room and all bigger tanks in the main room. The small room is 9 x 9

The sad thing is that your small fish room isnt much bigger than my dorm room. But that sounds like a good idea to me.

I had always thought it should be a spare bedroom but would take a LOT of work. It was an aviary for a while. And it was gonna be my office til we went overboard with fish. Oh well--I don't need an office. More water instead.

Here are current pics. And the room you're looking at through the door is the smaller one we've been gutting today.

Tina, it's just amazing how much your operation has grown since this spring when I first joined this site. You and Dennis are blessed that you both enjoy the hobby so much and can do it together. Good luck with the new room. Does this mean getting the small tanks moved will leave space for more big tanks in the main room?

5-6 more can go in the big room. And who knows how many small ones in the small room? It'll be more comfortable bring in new fish. I lose space so fast when this one isn't great with that one and these two are having babies and there's a new one I want to get but it needs more space, etc. I have no idea why I'm doing all this except that it's an obsession.

When an obsession brings joy and does no harm to anyone else, it's not a bad thing. Have fun.

Progress shot. The cinderblock part of the walls are now black. Better for having tanks in front.

Looks good angel!! Sounds like a fun project. I love setting up tanks and planning layouts.
Just make sure you don't over extend yourself too much. We don't want this to turn into work instead of a hobby!!! Have you thought about doing something different like and indoor pond in there that you could enjoy and not have to do nearly as much work?

You know, I think about that! And going to Home Depot they have one set up. Then to the Critter and they have one set up. It looks so easy. I'd love to do one. Could it really be that simple though? It just looks like blocks a liner and a pump.
