I've bought quite a bit of stuff online over the years, but lately the LFS in Knoxville have been competitive on price when you figure in shipping.

Shipping is always the issue isn't it? There are a LOT of things that look like a deal til they tell how much it'll cost to get it here.

I have used a number of online suppliers for equipment and depending on the item I need will determine which vendor I use. When I lived in Maryville. I got a 300 gallon tank, stand and canopy online. The tank was 10 feet long by 2 feet high and 2 feet wide. The tank was acrylic and reef ready, wood stand and canopy. Great workmanship on all. I now wish I would have kept it

Ok, You asked so here you go. In Maryville I had a greenhouse with 11 - 240 gallon tanks for soft corals. Than in the basement I had a 300, 240, 2 - 120, 210, 2 - 150 and for sumps 4 - 90's. These were my SPS coral tanks and yes I am still married to the same women.

Lucky boy! Guess you picked the right one! Either that or she loves you for your coral. That is a LOT of water! I'm kinda jealous.

I usually buy all my stuff at kensfish.com . What I can't get there I'll compare prices at various "big" online fish supply places. I do get HBH Algea wafers at Petsmart.

drsfostersmith.com usually, but I compare prices too. Shipping is not a concern for me since I buy around $200 worth at a time. I try to buy filter media and food in bulk, dry food that is.
The other day I bought a flat pack of frozen BW from the Critter, costs $17, later that night I was checking online prices, found a place with the exact same brand for $6.50, aarrrggghhh!!!! Granted shipping is around $25 for frozen food, when I run out again, I will make a large enough order to not make shipping be a problem. I would love to do a group order to make the shipping costs even less. I might hit some of you up when I'm in need of more frozen food.

Big Al's. Never had a problem. Usually have great prices and shipping doesn't kill you. The main thing is they are very reliable and quick with shipping.

I buy everything online unless it's an emergency. Most pet stores are more then double the price of online. I buy most of my filters off ebay. I got a rena xp4 last year new for $120. I also buy all of my dry and frozen food online. Just order everything in bulk and you will save a fortune. I order enough frozen food for a year and easily save $300 just on that alone per year. If you have several tanks paying retail store prices is crazy.
