This is one of my favorite non cichlids. These guys look just like little dinosaurs. This particular variety of polypterus only gets about 12" and is very active. It is a great tankmate for most cichlids and is very unique looking and acting.

Don't put them with mbuna- my little mbuna ate the eyes out of mine, he is still alive- for now...

Sorry Guys and Gals. I ment to say they usually go great with SA/CA cichlids. I live in my own little world sometimes with what I keep.
