Here's some pictures of a pair of Angelfish I have. I believe they are officially called "half black". If I'm wrong and anyone knows exactly what they are, please let me know. Here's the female and male together. Here's the male. Here's the female.

Love the angelfish, Drew! They're not halfblacks, though. Halfblacks are silvery wtih stripes on the front half and black on the back half. They may be double black. Or just black. I'm not great with knowing the angelfish varieties but there are a few here that are. Joe(Sirknight), Mike G.(river11) and Mike W. and Rick(ree123) all know them very well.

They look nice!!! Angel is right though, they are not half blacks. I have seen some that looked like that called black viels. Not sure if that is right though. We have a couple of breeders on here that will be able to tell you for sure.

I agree with both JD and Tina, they are not half blacks, although they look healthy. The one on the left to me looks like a black laced and the other looks like it has some marble in it.
Good luck with breeding and when they breed post some pictures of the fry.

I posted the pictures on "The Angelfish Forum II". Here's some feedback that I received from there on the ID of my fish. The male. D/g - S/+ - St/+ Streaked Hybrid Black Ghost The female. D/g - St/+ Streaked Hybrid Black Most of this is Greek to me, but at least I'm getting somewhere!

I would say bottom line is if you like them breed them and see what you get.
