What's the best way to keep Java moss? I have mine wrapped around a piece of lava rock to try and keep it in place, but the larger pleco's still mess it up! Should I just ball it up and let it do it's own thing on the bottom?

I've heard the best way is around a rock, but it's all in what works. For some of us it won't work no matter what, but that's mainly because Africans and plants are such a messy combination. They love to dig them up!

I heard that! The pleco's like to tear them up too! I'll ball it up around the rock, and the next morning it's spread out and tore up!

They might be eating on it. Think?

Bunnie has given me some excellent information on a fertilizing regimen, that I'll repost here, if she doesn't mind.
Back on topic: having plecos myself, it's good to know that they'll eat the moss. I was thinking about buying some in the future.

Plenty of Java moss and just floating free in tanks. Grows very well not anchored to anything in my tanks. :-)

Is it still in the pleco factory?
