I just got home from my first day at work at the critter. Was a great day but I haven't worked in 3 yrs. My body hates me right now but I am fired up for tomorrow.

You are living the dream- I would love to work there and learn about everything. There are a bunch of guys with a lot of knowledge, hopefully they are great teachers as well.

I have sometimes thought that working at a petstore would be cool but I'm afraid it would ruin the hobby for me. I'm not sure I could come home and do water changes after doing them all day. Glad you got the job there vladsbtch, make sure you put in a good word for the club .

I know what you mean JD after today. I cleaned a whole section on tanks. I am so sore but I learn from the guys there and it is worth it to me. Like my hubby said when i got the job "I will get paid to do what I do at home all of the time". But hey I do get to teach people about what not to put into a tank and how to do things right. i do love it so far. And the benefit of being able to buy at a discount for me is great. ;D

Congrats on the job ! Curiosity killed the cat though, what prompted you to apply for and want the job ? I visit there on occasion. Hope to meet you at some point. Enjoy, and again congrats. Rick, : aka ree123

I didn't apply. Chris looked at me one day when I was there last week and said do you want a job? I thought a min and said yes. I have been going there for almost 19 years. mostly it was the reptile side of the business until 5 years ago when I went crazy and started to have fish. So I figured since I am there once a week and sometimes twice in a day it would be a good job for me to have. And the learning part is really good for me. . I hope to meet you one day while I am at work also. I will be working nights and weekends. Saturday I will get my regular work schedule. I will let everyone know what it is. I hope to meet a lot of you guys here at work.
