First I have a german blue ram that I noticed the other day that looks like he has a small patch of skin missing at the top of his head. I started researching and found what I thought might be the problem, protozoan ciliate chilodonella, said to treat with malachite green. So I went to fins on sunday and explained that situation and that I also have a bala shark that I think hit his eye on driftwood and it is swollen and whitish the guy said it was bacterial infection and gave me Seacham Polyguard to treat both problems. Well tonight I come in and the ram now has what looks to be a blood blister on top of his head where the misssing patch of skin is. I am at a loss, should I keep treating with this or try something else? I never had any problems with this tank till I moved it, that is when the bala messed up his eye!

I had a krib that had popeye once, it is not popeye. It is just slightly swollen, not stuck way out there. When we moved the tank he did a big coma-cozi jump hit the large piece of driftwood bruised his body, it has already healed. The eye is pretty bad, think he may be blind in that eye.?.?

It could either be the start of HITH or a parasite. I had this happen twice since aqaurium keeping. Both fish were SA fish that were sensitive to water conditions. Both died after the spot ruptured. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that these fish come from much softer water with a lower PH. Our water just seems to make amazon fish much more suseptable to disease.

Start doing a 10% water change ever day. Lower the ph and keep the water as clean as possible. on day 5 start doing a 20% water change and keep it up until they look 100%. I try to change at least 80% of my water per week

Ok thanks I will try that, I also have clown loaches in that tank and they are the first fish I ever started keeping. I really don't want anything to happen to them, I don't want anything to happen to any of them, but you know what I mean.

Ok well this whole situation took a turn for the worse. I took some guys advice that I had never seen before in fins and medicated the tank. I lost the ram and both of my clown loaches. I had them for 5 or 6 years and they were about 6" long. I still have the bala and his eye is still not great, not sure what to do. I have been diligent in water changes and hope it will get better, but I fear he is gonna be blind in that eye. I have been checking my water and nitrates have been .5, never have had that before. Not sure if I should do anything other than my water changes??? Anyway that's where I'm at with this situation.
