My opinion is, if you like them, keep them. The fact that they are a hybrid isn't hurting them any. I've had two Blood Parrots for over six years and enjoy them. Some people would disagree though, and that's fine. What I don't like is the whole artificial coloring, tattooing, etc. on the BPs. Not only is it likely bad for the fish, it's down right ignorant. Of course, I feel the same way about tattoos on humans too.

I had one for a while. bought it it was no bigger than my pinky nail. When it was about 4" it started to get an attitude. Actually brought it to our first swap and had no takers. Went back to the lfs after that. Didn't have the tank space I do now. Would have kept it just to see how it colored up.
