Just love this tank. Nothing but rocks (some quite big) and sand, but I'd love to have one like it. It's a 180 gallon, by the way. The video was posted at cichlidforums.com.

Thanks for sharing. What a really great tank! Great biotope tank. That is about what it looks like where they live in the wild. He has some huge rocks in there!

Beautiful tank.
Those big rocks, must weigh a lot. Can the bottom glass ever break, from the weight? How do you know when your close to the limit?

Yes, tanks break all the time because of rock weight. You reduce the chances of this by placing a light diffuser or styrofoam on the bottom of the tank to equally distribute the weight of the rock. What happens is a piece of substrate gets under a large rock and then the entire weight of the rock is on the substrate. So all that weight is localized to that tiny spot which is were the break will occur.
