I am beginning the planning stage for the next part of the business, which will hopefully be the part that actually makes money. It is called Aquaponics, which is similar to Hydroponics, but you use organic fish waste to fertilize the vegetables. I am going to build the first greenhouse this summer and hopefully add one or to a year until we fill 20 acres of the 50.
Basically it is a small ecosystem. All leafy greens, tomatoes, and a lot of herbs grow well this way. You don't have to actually plant anything. It goes in a rubber maid and the fish are in the sump, and the water is pumped to the plants, is filtered by the plants, and goes back to the fish. No real water change is required with this. We will grow tilapia, catfish, and maybe some tough cichlids in the tubs. The waste water from my africans in the house will be used to top off evaporation.
I will post pics this spring when I start.

sounds pretty cool. I water all my plants out of my fish tanks at home and at work. Cool idea, I'd like to see a tank/planter set up.
