Thanks for taking a look! I just loaded up the first tour of another person's fish room: Mike Schroeder from Davenport, IA. www.tedsfishroom.com

Hey, Ted! Long time no see. I was just looking at your site a while back. I'm almost done with my fish room and I was contemplating doing the stand that would hold different sized tanks in the ladder style like you had, but I decided to do just 4 20g on the bottom and two 55gs on the top, and no third rack.
Love your fish room, it's great.

55's over 20H's or 20L's? Sounds like a tall rack! I guess not it is is only 2 levels. I like the front dimensions of a 55/75. Makes for a pretty display.

The footprint of the stand is going to be approx 4ft long by 2 ft deep. There will be two 55s sitting back to back on the top and then the four 20Hs will be the same, back to back. I could do them long-ways, but a couple of them already have permanent backgrounds, so this will be easier. I will have to have a crossbeam in the frame on the bottom, but the top, I think should be fine with just the rectangular frame because it's my understanding that the tanks will be adequately supported just by the side bars. I could put a middle bar in to better support it if I needed to, but I don't expect that will be needed.

Loved the video. One question what is the cichlid that is red on top? There is a still of it (it is the second still looks like after an electric blue?) and then you see it again later in the video in the tank. I really liked that coloration. I have not seen any cichlid with such a red.

In the Mike Schroeder video? The red-backed fish is a Pundamalia nyrerei from Lake Victoria. I am not sure of the exact variety (there are several).
