Xenos+moonlight+jump out of tank.

Am i blind or is there not a question section on the site? or a help area?

Well here is my question I keep having my Xenos jump out of the tank when i turn on or off the light in the tank! I Mean they fly out and smack in to the light.. what gets me is there is only a 5x10inch opening in the tank that is uncovered but they still jump out lol. i am very lucky that i have not lost one yet. the male has done this to me about 4 times now. turning off the light really makes them dart alover the tank.

Another question will a moonlight help stop this? you know one of the blue LED ones. I think it is because of the shadows after the light is off that spooks them. Also will the fish beable to sleep with a moonlight on? I know moonlight = nightlight but I have never used something like this on a tank before ,and don't want to stress out the fish. ;D

It will help. They just get startled and go nutty. My Fronts do the same thing. The moon light might keep them from getting as startled as going from dark to night.

The question section of the forum is the forum: The pics section is for pics, classified is to sell, intro is for introduction, and everything else broken down by fish type or region is for questions, or posting of tips/experience. So this type of question could go in tank set-up or the tang section.

My fronts do it too. The tank is covered completely so they can't jump out, but they hit the top glass frequently when the lights go out.
