I will be getting in two different kinds of catfish next Tuesday. One is called akysis vespa here is a site that is very informative. www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/content.php?sid=2581What they don't tell you is finding them is extremely difficult. I got lucky and found some and am buying the last ones she has. So I will be getting 8 of them. Hoping to breed them. I am also getting 6 Habrosus corys. An other small cat here is a page about them. www.fishpondinfo.com/habro.htm These guys will live together in a 10 gallon tank till I get an other one set up to separate them. I guess it really isn't necessary to separate them since both species seem to like pretty much the same water conditions. I will decided that later. I found them at the same site I found the vespas. I cannot wait. I will have pictures up as soon as I get them and get them settled. I am also going to get some clown killies the week after next. I am going to smaller fish I can have more in less tank space. I am going to take down my one 45 breeder and clean it up and divide it into 3 separate areas. I will keep updating as I find some more cool small fish to keep and breed. WOO HOO! LOL

The vespa gets to be 1.6 inches so not that small and I will be keeping them in a small tank. They are suppose to be fairly active. The corys are smaller as they get less than 1 inch but again they will be in a small tank and I have heard that they are pretty active. Most of the fish I an going to get into having will be under 2 inches with most of them in the 1 to 1.5 inch size.

Yes they are Ben, I am not sure if I had found someone who has and sells them when I was talking to you about it. But I did find them and they are ordered and will be sent overnight Monday to be here Tues. You will have to come over and see the little guys after I get them. And the corys are even smaller. Have you started setting up any blackwater tanks yet? You will have to post pictures when you get that going.

The water is very soft ph higher acid than regular tanks. Some people keep their ph as low as 4 mine is around 5.5 to 6. It is called blackwater I believe because the water has a brown look to it. I use peat, and Indian Almond leaves to naturally make my blackwater tanks. The fish that live in blackwater are bettas, some plecos, angels, discus, guppies, endlers and some killiefish and shrimp. I am using it for my endlers, shrimp, bettas and angels.
