Beautiful color, Roger. Is that a female? It's bright enough I'd expect it to be male, but its anal fin isn't full of egg spots.

Angel, I think it is a maturing male. Females won't have as much color in the face and tail, and it has one real good eggspot.

Angel, egg spots are not a good indicator of male and female in Peacocks. The dorsal and anal fins in the males are very pointed in females they are rounded off. You will find in many species. The females fins never come past the peduncle (which is the base of the tail) Males will streem back farther.

They are bright orange. The males the females never display as much color. Tend to be a more aggressive peacock.

I'm new to my pair--will their fins turn blue like that or is it under certain light that the blue comes out?

Angel, yours will be almost just like that except Rogers is a Tangarine and yours are German Firefish. Yours will be more red but should have the blue highlights in the fins as well. They are both excellent fish.

I'm excited about them! The color difference since I got them is stunning in itself. It'll be great to see them continue to change
