I did think that one, but every picture I saw had too much red on the tail however the link you posted has some on the bottom with just the tail tipped with red so yes I think it more fits. Except maybe the snout on that one is longer than yours. But fish are different from place to place and especially if there's been any hybriding with others in their lineage, and I did read there was some crossing going on with these Vic haps, so that further supports it could be the fish. I like yours better than all of them though.

How many rays on its anal fin? That could tell the tale. It looks like the Nubila has 10.

But I think the other one does too. That doesn't help unless it's neither and I think it is the one you posted.

They sure are! I'm down to 2 zebra obliquidens, and 4 pundamilia hippo point blue bars. They just can't tolerate competition! But there are tons and tons of christmas fulus somehow they learned to get along. I can see why no one really keeps Vics. But if they do want to I have a boatload of them to boost their stock!

victorian haps, and malawi haps are not anywhere near the same fish. malawi haps for the most part are not aggressive whereas victorians are mean, and when stocking a tank, they need to be treated like mbuna. either go all male and overstock, or go 1 m to 6-8 female.
the reason to keep them is that if you get the right mix, they have about the most color of any african and nonstop action.

Yeah I think i have owned one Victorian Hap in my lifetime. I never really was fond of them. There is so cool looking ones out there ,but I guess they just are not my cup of tea. You want to see action ou should need my brichardi ,and Comps going at it now! i just set up a 55gal for the Comps to move in to in a few days. to slow the war down... no deaths or hurt fish just alot of shoving.
