I also use NLS for my cichlids (1mm sinking pellet, cichlid formula), some random algae wafers for the pleco's and some random tropical food (tetramin I think) for the guppies. I feed once a day, unless I forget, and occasionally the plecos get fed twice if my daughter feeds them and doesn't tell me about it. And then there was the day that my son fed 1/4 of the can of NLS to the cichlid tank... I was NOT a happy camper. All is well now though . -Rick (the armchair aquarist)

Is this NLS food all pellet foods in varing sizes ? Any flakes by this brand ?
I use Tetra Flakes I buy in 5 lb. buckets several times per year, when on sale, if I catch it right. I also use frozen brine shrimp and frozen blood worms along with live brine shrimp and microworms that I keep going year round. Then, I use pellet foods from a few different sources, including Jon's new brands he is selling. And finally, I use fresh zucchini, squash, etc... for my BN Pleco's a few times per week. All fish get fed twice per day with the occasional day skipped, just for good measure.
I have always read and have bought into the idea from my experiences; the idea that fish are no different than us, and that a varied diet is as good for them as it is for us.
I have also found, from experience, that when i want my fish to breed, conditioning them with some extra frozen blood worms works exceptionally well.
I'm not feeding larger Africans though, like so many of you. I raise Angels, BN Plec's, various smaller cichlids, S.A. & African, and specific colors of guppies.

Ok, so I just googled and watched and read all the info. on NLS or new Life Spectrum foods. Interesting. Now the question, where do all of you all buy your supply ? I would like to try it, but there seems to be many, many, many, various selections to choose from. I don't have any idea what to try. I need some guidance, and a link or two to use for a purchase, for a trial run. Assistance/guidance please.

I have now found it @ Big Als and online with Amazon and E-bay. Still lots of selections. Recommendations ? I feed Angels of various sizes, various Sm. Cichlids like Rams and Kribs, etc..., guppies, and BN Plecos.
