-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attn: All members ;
As many of you may or may not be aware, we lost our option to continue our swap/meets @ JD's work, where we have had the last several get togethers. We, your officers, have put in many, many hours that you have not been aware of, investigating alternate ideas and options for another location that we hoped to be free as before, and meet our needs. There have been many, many places called and visited over the last few months in order to secure this opportunity for our organization. And I mean many, Many, MANY. Your officers worked hard on this for you ! The results have landed us the opportunity, for this fall, for a one time chance to use a very nice facility, and if the club follows certain legal avenues, we may continue to use this facility. We must, however, become a Sanctioned, Insured, Not for Profit Club, which has fees associated with it. I tell you this so you will understand your officers continued efforts to look for the best answers for our group. Your officers will address these topics as they arise, thus keeping you involved and informed. For now the following is set for this falls swap/meet and you need to choose the date.------You have until this Sunday, 8-28-11 @ about midnight to cast your vote before the poll closes.
Note: Your officers have chosen the first date on the list, 10-02-11, as their preference, as all officers can be present without conflict on that date, but you all have the final say. Majority of votes wins.
The location for our fall swap/meet is as follows:
Williamson County Office Complex 1320 W. Main St. Franklin, TN 37064
The time alloted to us is Noon to 4p.m. no matter which day is chosen.

Oops, can we change our vote? I was thinking i had a conflict for the 23rd, but just realized it's the 22nd, not the 23rd.
Out of curiosity, why are all the choices sunday, with no saturday options?

Past input from members indicated that Sundays were better than Saturdays. The worst turn out was when we had a swap on a Saturday.
Glenoweth - What two polls are you seeing?

There are definitely two polls. With different results shown. One shows 11 have voted and I think the other one shows three have voted. Both in the announcement section.
The one at the top of this thread is the 11-vote version.

Please use this poll for voting. The other one will be deleted as soon as we verify that the three votes that were cast have been counted here.

The 2nd or the 23rd are OK, but I'd rather not do it the 30th because of Halloween. In the fall if you do it on Saturdays, you have to compete with college football...but Sundays a lot of people have church obligations.

The double poll thing was fixed. Jon checked to ensure that no one's vote was not counted. Many thanks to Glenoweth for pointing it out!

Poll closed. Thank you to those who voted. I do, although, wish more of you would have expressed your vote.
It appears the totals are as follows:
9 votes for the first Sunday in October, 2011, 4 votes for the fourth Sunday, 1 vote for the last Sunday, and 1 vote for the any Sunday.
Thus, 10 of 14 voters have picked Sunday, October 2, 2011 for our next swap/meet event to be held @ the Williamson County Office Complex @ 1320 W. Main St., Franklin, TN 37064, from Noon until 4 p.m..
Please mark this into your calendars, and we will be talking about the plans and the events in the days and weeks to come. I believe this is going to be a very special swap/meet for each of you, as we have plans in the works this very moment for speakers, a raffle, and a small auction. We will also have snacks and drinks available during the swap/meet, and of course, we will be selling and swapping all our goodies and prized aquatics with one another ! It should be a good event for everyone, and has room for even more refinement as our club grows and prospers.
I do have 2 requests. For now. LOL ( Keep reading please !)
1) Will every club member, and even some non club members if you would care to participate, bring 1 plastic bag of an aquatic item or a dry good to be auctioned for the club ? You would be donating this item to the club for the club's good. If this works out well, we may continue this, and start splitting profits with the club and the seller in the future. In a given auction bag with a fish, a group of fish, (fry or any size fish/aquatic), or 1 or more plants, or 1 or more frags, or 1 or more of any other aquatic you might be willing to share, write your name on the bag for the records and acknowledgment.
and...
2) Will each of you invite someone to attend with you ? Even if they say no, please make an attempt. And it doesn't even have to be a friend. You could each visit your local pet store, and while standing before the rows of tanks, simply start a conversation with another hobbyist beside you, tell them about our swap/meet, and invite them.
Be prepared though. Have a post it note or a scratch piece of paper with the mcaafish site written on it with the date, time, location, and hours of the swap/meet.
Folks, there are people I met nearly every week who state to me, " I have never heard of you all. Where and what are you all ? " Every member of this club plays a part in helping it to grow and become bigger and better, thus more fun for everyone ! EVERYONE, PLEASE PITCH IN WITH 1 ATTEMPT EACH. It could make a dramatic difference for us all !!!!!!!
See you all on the 2nd of October !!! It is sure to be a high time together !!! I know I'm looking forward to it !!! All of you talk it up to one another, and make your plans.
Thanks for reading. Your President, Rick Easterly
