Mirror background ? Did you make it ? Buy it ? I can't say I have ever seen a background like this one. All my tank backs are painted either black or blue. I have found that these 2 darker colors seem to make the inhabitants seem more relaxed and less panicky.

Tank looks good. Another question though ----- The rocks to the left side----you called them lace rock ? I am familiar with holey rock, but not lace. Where does lace come from ? Texture and/or weight similar to the river rock on the right ?
I actually think I would prefer the lace rock to holey rock as it looks more natural, but there are those who like the clean white look of the holey rock.
Aren't we glad there is variety since we all like different stuff. As was once said, "Variety IS the spice of life."

I actually bought the mirror background. I think it makes the males in the tank color up a little more, but im changing it to black soon since i want a more relax look. Im also changing it to try a theroy. In this tank right now with alot of my males showing full breeding colors, not sure if its due to background, my females in the tank are always holding. So since i have a bunch of fry right now and not sure what the market is for these fish im going to see what a black background does.
The lace rock has a lot of little holes and crevises for small fish like fry to hide in. I had holey limestone before, but didnt like the white look of it and found this at Pet Palace for like $2.49 a lbs. It weighs less then the big river rocks and gives the tank a different look.

Tank looks really good. Have you given any thought to using black sand?
