Since this will be under the living portion of your house, I would also look into humidity control.

Jess Puff - I love hearing the enthusiasm of your project and new home purchase. Now I can't wait for updates.

I will definitely update when I have progress to share... right now we're still working on making the living area of the house the way we want it. Probably won't work on the fish room until after the new year.

I asked hubby if he would be open to the idea of a 150 gallon upstairs and he said I need an intervention. HAHA! I thought it was hilarious! He said no to the 150 upstairs (b/c if it leaked that would be a lot of water, which is true) but he DID say I could put one that large downstairs. WooHoo! Sounds like I'll eventually have the whole downstairs as my fish room (not just the garage). HAHA! Don't tell him I said that though.

What a role reversal here...lol...it's usually the other way around...we boys fighting for our fish. Love it Jess.

I think you need a 150 upstairs and downstairs honestly.

Rule #1, fishrooms are great, but there has to be a nice show tank in the house.

True... I actually have a really nice 75 gal but I was wanting a lil bigger. It'll do though.

It looks a little trashy in the pics but I do have a plan. It's an 18x14 room and I'm going to squeeze as many tanks as possible. I do have to leave some room for my toy that's in the background but other than the bike, that whole place is for fish!
