I think it will be easier to care for adults than raise young ones. Hopefully a lot hardier too. They are beautiful fish, that is for sure.

What Jon said above ! 80's temps, frequent h20 changes, good filtration, tall tank, tall plants to make them feel at home, below 7 ph if possible. Not much harder than Angels, but more picky of their parimeters, as my experience has been when I kept them some years ago.

the guy im getting them from said he doesn`t do any thing to his water its straight out of the tap but its 84 to 86 degrees and does 25% water changes twice a wk. he has been spawning Discus for 11 yrs so i guess he knows what he is doing. he is sending me pics and when i get them i will try my hand at getting them on here .

I would suggest you ask his ph from his tap ? They can be spawned like Angels in bare tanks with cones avail. to spawn upon. I would paint 3 of 4 sides of the tank blue to help keep them calm. That worked for me in the past anyway.
If being kept in a gravel display tank, painted sides are not as important as tall plants, live or artifical, IMHO. I think live is better, but have gone both routes.

I have a wild green pair. I keep the temat 86 in a very dark area. Ph below 6 and very calm clean water.
