I have about 8 in a 90 growing out now. Had a couple pair up at 3" and spawned this past Saturday. Too much activity in the tank and eggs were eaten the next day. Going to setup up a 35 high just for the pair and see what goes.....Mark

Peat does nothing for our water other then add some tanins which some fish like. You have to remove as lot of the calcium out of the water before you will ever get the PH down. You pretty much have to use an RO unit to get the hardness down before you can really adjust PH. Once your remove the hardness you can use peat or some other treatments to lower the PH below 7.

We have a pair of red turquoise discus, and let me say it is a true pain to grow the fry up and parent raising is just as much of a pain. We were actually thinking of selling ares but we really wanted to get a tank of discus fry. closest we got were about 50 to pea size then they ate them.
