From what was told to us was this was a way to either credit or vice versa other people on the forum for great things they have done or horrible things they have done. I don't really know what I have done but someone seems to appreciate it.

The thread you are looking for was discussed and chatted on in our MCAA members only board, which you do not have access to at the moment since you are not a due paid member.
I will therefore copy and paste here what I posted in that thread last week.

Although there is no hard and fast policies of any kind of how to use karma, it has always been understood that it is for recognizing or acknowledging someone for a job well done or for a job not well done. It was not meant for use as a fun toy to compete with, although like I said, there are no strict rules for its use.

To just play with the #'s for the heck of it and to get a good laugh from another, renders it useless for the rest of us.
My opinion of course.

I do have a few questions concerning the dues.
Who gets those dues?
What is the benefit of becoming a paid member?

I do not mean to sound rude, I simply have yet to stumble across the thread that explains the benefits, so if you could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

I found the answer about dues under the introduction section.

Click on the Announcement board.
Then click on MCAA Policies sub-board.
Then click on any of the following;
MCAA By-Laws, MCAA Consitiution, MCAA Amendments, or MCAA "Club" Benefits.
