I am new to this forum, and a semi-novice when it comes to keeping fish. I have had several aquarium setups over the last 8 years or so, mostly with cichilds and other fresh water varieties.
I am considering a salt water setup and thought I would check out some forums to get myself up to speed as what was needed, and what is hype.

Welcome! At the top of the page, there is an icon called "members". Look for "oldsaltydog" or "madreefer". Both great guys. Send them a PM and they should get back to you. They are both big into salt tanks.

Stoney I've met you and your dog. ;D I carried some furniture for our mutual friend, that you had given him. Here is my dobie. She is a little bigger now, as these are from a little over a year ago.   |

did you already buy a saltwater tank? I bought a used one - so it came with everything (live sand/rock and two fish). It had been running for two years ... so it was an easy way to get into saltwater aquariams for me.
