Greetings to all MCAA forum and club members :
I wanted to take just a moment to express gratitude for all the participation that has allowed our group
to continue to grow in 2011. The sole fact that we have such a fantastic group that enjoy sharing ideas,
concerns, opinions, and knowledge with all the others is an intrigual part of why we have continued to grow
and prosper as an organization !
I also want to take a moment to re-fresh your memory of the 2011 accomplishments that we have all been a part of this year.
*We appointed a new President and Treasurer to fill officer spots that were vacated prematurely.
*We had our first election to nominate and appoint new officers for 2012.
*We grew our swaps into swap/meets and incorporated a quarterly business meeting, speakers, a raffle, and a auction into these new formatted swap/meets.
*A large MCAA yard sign was created for use during swap/meet events to mark our way, and to invite others.
*We lost our swap/meet location we had used for the swaps of 2010 and Spring of 2011 and spent time and efforts to secure a new location for the Fall swap/meet of 2011. (It appears we will be changing this location again for Spring of 2012, and a new location is already in the process of being secured, and will be discussed in length @ the open MCAA Winter business meeting in January 2012.) (Date, time, & location TBA soon)
*We invited Channel 4 T.V.to attend our Fall swap/meet w/o their co-operation, and have goals for other local television stations to cover future events.
*Generic club business cards were created for every member to acquire and spread among fellow hobbyists known and unknown by yourselves, in order to promote club growth and forum participation. Thank you to every one of you who have done your part to promote this effort. Please continue to spread the word of our existence and the use of the generic cards ! (There are plenty more if you desire to help further !) It takes us all to keep up the growth ! (Our goal continues to be over 50 members chatting on the forum every day, so we qualify to be a part of the national ACA !)
*We began our monthly picture of the month contest with great participation and success and it continues. (Thank you Jon)
This will be incorporated into the upcoming swap/meets as an awards proceedings, with all forum club members being the judges.
*We have successfully added 65 forum members this year and a record number have joined as club members.
* With the help of several, we have successfully colored our club logo in various options for your use or pleasure. (Thank you Fuzzylogic )
*We posted all the club By-Laws, Constitution, and addendum's to certain policies.
*The 2011 Amendments were written, approved, and published as well. (This was very time consuming by all of your officers)
* We had no member deaths in 2011 to date, although we are aware of several members losing family loved ones. Although death is a part of all of our lives, we feel blessed that no active members we have learned of, have been lost to the ultimate and unique club above.
It is with great admiration that these achievements have been reached and that I applaud each of you for your efforts,
participation, and caring attitude towards your fellow hobbyist in numerous forms of context, be it on
our forum, in person @ our swap/meets, or in person one on one !!!
Promotion of our club for 2012 continues to be of the highest priority for each of us to play a part within. Please keep up the fantastic job you have done to date !!! Each of you make such a difference and have impact on others lives, whether you know it or not !
