My name is Allen. My wife and I had a nano-reef years ago and have recently decided to jump back into aquatics. We have a 56g tank and after it is leak tested we would like to build a reef in it.
We are in the process of making the equipment and critter decisions. Any advice is welcome as well as recomendations on good shops in the middle Tennessee area.

Welcome tndad. As far as shops, it's heard to beat Aquatic Critter on Nolensville Pike in Nashville.

Yes, WELCOME !!! Although there are lots of folks here who talk Cichlids, and many specifically African Cichlids, there are members who have salt water set-ups as well. I am not one of them, and my interests lie in the S.A. and C.A. fish. Fins of Franklin, in Franklin TN and The Aquatic Critter in Nashville, have a nice selection of salt inhabitants. The Critter is better, IMO. In your area near Fayetteville, aka "Fedville", and Huntsville, I am not real sure. Glen, you live down that way. What do you recommend for tndad ? (or any of the rest of you Alabamians ? ) BTW... I like your pen name dad.

Thanks guys, we plan to make a trip to "The Critter" this weekend. I have gotten several snakes fromt there in the past and it's always fun to feed the youngest to...errr I mean let the youngest feed the caymans.
There used to be a shop in Huntsville, Lucy's Lagoon, but they are closed now.

Critter is the way to go in Nashville. You also have Fins of Franklin and Emerald Bay as options, but less selection.

For reef critter is good. Fins in franklin has some as well. I have a 29g nano reef and like it, but africans are my thing. My sin wanted a nemo , i gave him a nemo, and my eel ate it. I have a few soft coral and a duncan. I wont be throwing $80 out the window any more on frogspawn.
I have also seen a guy onCL advertising a lot of stuff.
